Swiss graphic designer and designer although he mainly worked in Italy. He trained at the Kunstgewebeschule in Zurich and began his apprenticeship at an advertising agency. In 1940 he settled in Milan where he was hired by the Boggeri studio, where Luigi Veronesi, Bruno Munari and Albe Steiner also work; meanwhile he is studying at the Brera Academy.

In 1945 he began collaborating with the Einaudi publishing house from which he was commissioned to take care of all the graphics. He then becomes a teacher of lettering and graphics at the “La Rinascita” school, an educational experience that will be repeated in the following years in other Milanese schools (at the Humanitarian and at the Polytechnic School of Design). In 1948 he studied the graphics of the new economic-financial newspaper 24 Ore.

With Achille Castiglioni and Erberto Carboni he designs important installations (Rai, Eni, Montecatini) and various radio exhibitions. His activity led him to distinguish himself also in the publishing field by collaborating with important companies such as Olivetti, Esselunga, Feltrinelli, Istituto Geografico De Agostini. He designs the brand for Nava, Murano, Esselunga, Coin and “La Rinascente”; for the latter, together with Sambonet and Munari, he takes care of his communication.

He was a member of AGI, Alliance Graphique Internationale. In 2005 the “Max” (Max Huber Museum) was inaugurated in Chiasso, which collects the legacy of the professional and is directed by the widow, the Japanese Aoi Kono.
