Team founded in 1899 at the Fiaschetteria Toscana in via Berchet in Milan by a group of Italian and English football fans, led by Alfred Edwards and Herbert Kilpin. The team was initially called “Milan Foot-Ball and Cricket Club” and, only two years after its foundation, it won its first “Scudetto”. From that moment the glorious history of Milan began, which wrote memorable pages of football history, becoming one of the strongest and most famous clubs in the world; among its ranks there have been great coaches such as Nereo Rocco and Nils Liedholm, then Arrigo Sacchi and Fabio Capello. Under the presidency of Silvio Berlusconi, the team has won more, including league titles and international cups. The choice of colors to represent the team is not linked to the colors of the city but “red as the fire of the devils, black as the fear of opponents in facing them”, as the founding partner Herbert Kilpin said; a good choice, certainly suited to the sporting environment, in which you have to be strong, decisive and sometimes even “bad” to assert yourself, and in which you must always try to instill fear in your opponents and be respected.

The first logo of 1899 featured a circle with the team colors and the emblem of Milan, formed by a red cross on a white background; all enclosed in an oval with the acronym MFBC (Milan Foot-Ball and Cricket Club) at the top and the year of foundation at the bottom. This logo has undergone changes to adapt the acronym to the new names; in 1907 it was MFCC (Milano Football Cricket Club), in 1919 it was MFC (Milano Football Club) and in 1939 the fascist authorities imposed the Italianization of the name in Associazione Calcio Milano (ACM).

In 1945, as this constraint no longer exists, the logo will bear the writing “Milan” at the top; the oval edging will be gold.

In 1979 Milan won the Championship and presented the new logo with the star of the ten championships won; a stylized red devil with a successful mix of fire, face, body and tail of the red and black devil. This symbol coexisted with the Rossoneri letter M; it was designed by the Zeta agency in Milan.

In 1986 the logo was simplified with a black frame while in 1998 the logo will have the black red oval edging and the acronym ACM returns at the top.
