Leading company in Italy in the chewing-gum sector and dominant in stick candy. The historical roots date back to 1946, the year in which the brothers Ambrogio and Egidio Perfetti founded the “Dolcificio Lombardo” in Lainate (Milan). At the time it was decided to launch a type of product already known and mythologized but completely absent on the Italian market: chewing-gum. “Brooklyn, the bridge rubber” was born, which immediately became synonymous with American rubber for the Italians. The current leadership position is largely attributable to the providential acquisition in 1986 of the company “Davide Caremoli”; the latter was founded in 1913 in Milan. In 1932, having acquired the necessary ‘know-how’ in the balsamic pastilles sector, Caremoli launched a new product that was literally destined to make the history of candy in Italy: “Golia” was born, the soft caramel based on licorice and refreshments. At the beginning of the fifties, thanks to the fixed price of one lira, it was used by traders as change, causing a real explosion in sales.

Due to the growing worldwide success, in 1955 the logo appeared with two terrestrial globes and the initials “DDL” for “Dolciaria Lombarda Lainate”. This symbol appeared on Brooklyn chewing gum papers.

At the beginning of the 1960s, the logo had the words “Dolcificio Lombardo” and the name Perfetti, all lowercase and with the characteristic letter “F” that came out, with the curved line, outside the rectangle. In 1971 only the logo appeared while in 1979 the company ordered the updating of its signature by partially modifying the lettering.

In 1987 the company entrusted the renewal of the company logo to Sergio Dabovich; with the aim of adapting it to its image as an international company projected towards the acquisition of sector leadership, it was composed in all caps and inserted within a frame. In 2001 there is the merger with the Dutch Van Melle and, therefore, the two logos appear together.
